IIFA Rocks hosts

Move over Karan Johar and Anushka Sharma. It’s time to make space for Vicky Donor star Ayushman Khurana and Desi Boyz siren Chitrangada Singh as they take over the IIFA Rocks stage in Singapore.

To be held on June 8, the tradition of IIFa Rocks dictates that music and fashion spectacle will intermingle with ease.

Last year in Toronto at IIFAs, a slightly nervous Sharma had accompanied the smooth-talking Johar as he got the show rolling. Stars including Shah Rukh Khan and Sonakshi Sinha attended the music-fashion extravaganza.

Though the music acts for this year are yet to be confirmed, it’s the first time that the Vicky Donor sensation will play an IIFA anchor. His debut film, a comedy set against the sticky world of sperm-donation, was hailed as the sleeper-hit of 2012.

News has also trickled in that Sonu Sood’s action drama Maximum will be screened at this year’s IIFAs.

Billed as Bollywood’s Oscar-equivalent, the awards weekend beginning June 7 attracts some of its biggest stars. Watch this space for interviews with Khurana and Singh.
