Isn't Deepika Padukone supposed to be dating Ranbir Kapoor? Apparently, not because when she went to watch Ghajini at a suburban multiplex in Mumbai recently. She was spotted hurrying out of the theatre with a mystery guy after the show, getting into her car and zooming away. Though she made a hasty departure it was not quick enough to hide the fact that the guy was not Ranbir and certainly not someone from the Indian cricket team. So, who was he? Watch this space.
Growing wiser with age?
It was Salman Khan's 43rd birthday recently and unexpectedly it was a quiet one. No brawls, no hunting sprees and no speeding at midnight – just quiet get together with close family members and a few friends at his farmhouse near Mumbai. I guess age is catching up with Bollywood's bad boy... finally.
Kareena kapoor hooked on to work
A very public love life and an active professional life, Kareena Kapoor has her hands full these days and she likes it that way. "Saif is extremely loving and supportive. In fact, the best phase of my career started when Saif came into my life. Now he's enjoying this phase in my life along with me. That makes this phase even more special," says Kareena.
No guesses then for why she is so upbeat. She is currently working in a Karan Johar production with Saif, and also Rajkumar Hirani's Three Idiots.
On the personal front, however, the lovebird have hit a plateau, with marriage having been put on the backburner for the next few years. "For me, the journey as an actress has just begun. And I'm not going to shift my focus for the next four-five years. The work I'm doing is giving me so much satisfaction. No 28-year-old can ask for more." Looks like Saif has to wait.
Too busy for papa
Shahid Kapur is so busy that he doesn't even have time for papa Pankaj Kapur... professionally that is. A very disciplined actor he insists that he will not start work with Kapur senior's directorial debut film till he finishes his existing projects. And what does his dad have to say? "My film will be delayed as my son is extremely busy with his other films. He is working on Kaminey and Pathshala. As these films' schedules have been extended, my film has been pushed to mid-2009. I am planning to get the film on the floors before May 2009." Looks like father and son understand each other well.

The Javed Akhtars and Samirs of Bollywood, please be warned. There is a new lyricist in town and is quite a star himself. It's none other than action hero Akshay Kumar and the song for which he has written the lyrics is Everything's gonna be alright for the animation flick Jumbo. The song which talks about peace and keeping faith has gained added relevance in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Mumbai recently. "It may sound cliched but there is always light at the end of a tunnel. This was my belief when we were conceptualising for the video. I was taken aback at the uncanny relevance it has with the situation today," he says.

Here today, gone tomorrow
Now he has it, but in future he won't. Now that Ghajini is a wrap, Aamir Khan has decided that he does not need the eight-pack abs anymore. "I had put in all my effort to build my body. But it was for a film and now that the shooting for the film is over, I don't want to remain that way. I know that that there is a trend in our industry for heroes to sport a six-pack ab, but I don't intend to follow any trends." This Khan marches to a different drum beat.
Ash-Rajni secret out
The secret is out on the Aishwarya Rai-Rajnikanth film Enidhiran, earlier titled Robot. Actually the earlier name is a giveaway. According to sources, this futuristic film is about a robot that Rajni's character (as a famous scientist creates). The robot looks like Rajni as well and this robot's antics are what the story is all about. Ash is the love interest... for the scientist as well as the robot!
