Shettys on a diet
It is well-known that Shilpa Shetty has a hot figure, in fact one of the hottest in Bollywood. But the same cannot be said about her family. Her sister, Shamita, who is also a starlet and is known for a couple of item numbers, has none of the physical attributes that big sister boasts. Perhaps that will change. Shilpa has put the women in her family on the diet that she follows. "We avoid carbs. We compensate it with loads of proteins and vitamins. Trust me, the results are showing,"says Shilpa. Shilpa's mother Sunanda according to friends is looking great. But what about Shamita?
Image matters
Director Sanjay Ghadvi is known to have a soft spot for Uday Chopra. After all he gave the actor two of the best films of his abysmal career – Dhoom and Dhoom 2. But when it came to Kidnap, Sanjay cast Imran Khan instead of Uday. Reason? “Uday became too old for the role. Also, I feel that [his character] Ali's [funny] image from 'Dhoom' is still very strong in the audience's mind," says Sanjay. Poor Uday.
Trimming doesn't help
Goldie Behl's magnum opus Drona turned out to be a damp squib at the box office. But the director (above with Abhishek Bachchan) with is not giving up on the film. He felt that all that the movie needed was a trim to make it work and so he went ahead and chopped off 13 minutes and released the edited version the next day of the release. “The original length of the film was 2 hours 17 minutes and now it's close to 2 hours,'' says Behl. Well, the film has still not picked up.
Hooda turns scarface
Randeep Hooda, the cute hunk who is better known as Sushmita Sen's ex, has managed to scar his pretty face. While shooting for Khusar Prasad Ka Bhoot, Randeep was supposed to sport a scar on his face but the make-up artist could not create one that was convincing enough, at least for Randeep. By the time the make-up artist could get it right and the shoot got over, Randeep's skin became very tender and developed a burn-like mark that is taking time to heal. "Maybe, I should do a film now titled Scarface,'' he says. Cute.
Helping hand
Imran Khan and Minissha Lamba have formed a mutual admiration society. In meetings with producers, Khan (left) always talks about his co-star from Kidnap, praising her professionalism and talent. Lamba on the other hand has not stopped thanking the actor for helping her lose weight so that she could carry off a bikini. But if you are thinking he exercised with her and taught her new weightloss tricks, you've got it wrong.
Here's her explanation: "During the shootings, I was on a high-protein diet. While I was surviving mostly on protein bars, Imran used to get his lunch from home with delicious minced meat. The aroma of the dish always tempted me, so Imran stopped eating in front of me. He used to sit in a corner, far away from me. Since I couldn't smell it, I didn't get tempted." Wow, how considerate is that!
