Taking a break
Akshay Kumar is all the way to Monte Carlo taking a well-deserved break with his family. But despite riding high on the success of his releases this year, including the most recent Singh Is Kinng, Kumar admits he still gets the jitters when his film is about to release. "I was so nervous before the release that I couldn't sleep," he says. The actor also says that when it comes to deciding holiday destinations, the 'king' at home is his wife. "Every time a release is near, I put the desktop globe in front of my wife and tell her to pick a destination for a holiday. I told my wife that if my new film was a hit, I would take her to Monte Carlo. If it didn't work, we'd have to do with Mahabaleshwar," says Kumar.
Mixing business with pleasure
After following her to London and Amsterdam, the much-in-love Saif Ali Khan is going to Paris to be with Kareena Kapoor, who will be shooting a commercial for an apparel brand that she endorses there. When contacted, Kapoor confirmed this: "Yes, we are flying to Paris. I'm looking forward to this trip and to the shoot. The shoot will have the best professionals so it's bound to be a great campaign." Mixing business with pleasure … a heady cocktail indeed.
For Shah Rukh's security
Shah Rukh Khan is causing quite a stir in Pollachi, a small town 40km from Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. The star is shooting for his home production Billoo Barber in the picturesque town and people from Kochi, Trichur, Bangalore and Coimbatore have been travelling to catch a glimpse of him. Nearly 100 security guards have been deployed for the superstar's security and the entire top floor of the Sakthi Hotel has been converted into SRK's personal suite and is fitted with the latest security gadgets. In addition to that, 20 bullet-proof vehicles have been flown in from Mumbai for the star and his entourage. And adding to the chaos is the fact that Priyadarshan, the director of the film, feels that since SRK plays a megastar in the film, he needs to be seen in a very fancy car – an oak white Maybach limo. Now we don't know which is a bigger crowd-puller, the car or the man.
Priyanka to play 12 characters
Move over Kamal Haasan, here comes Priyanka Chopra. If the superstar of South Indian cinema can do 10 roles in Dasavataram, our glam girl can do 12. Yes, Chopra is going to play 12 different characters in Ashutosh Gowariker's next film, What's your Rashee. According to an insider, "Each of the roles will have a trait that is associated with people belonging to a particular raashi (sun sign)." When asked about the role, Priyanka refused to reveal much about her varied characters. The movie is an adaptation of Kimball Ravenswood, a hilarious novel by US-based Gujarati writer Madhu Rye. So is Gowariker making a comedy? Now, that's a first.
Aamir gets a six-pack
If Shah Rukh Khan can do it after hitting his 40s then why can't Aamir Khan? According to reports, the fastidious star developed his six-pack in less than a month for his next release Ghajini. The only difference we presume, knowing Aamir's eye for detail, is that the star would've done it because the role demanded it and not just to bare his torso in a song.
