Natural is the theme of an evening for ladies in Dubai.

Naturally Beautiful was the theme of a ladies high tea hosted by the Coral International Hotels, Resorts & Spas this weekend.

The sunlit interior, soothing waterfall and earth toned decor at Butterfly, the café at the recently opened Coral Boutique Hotel Apartments in Al Barsha, provided an ambience that was perfectly in tune with the theme of the event.

The afternoon began with a presentation by pastry chef Elijah Kaseregenyi, who used seasonal fruits, a variety of berries and other natural ingredients to create some delicious and healthy desserts.

This was followed by a make-up demonstration by Hiba Ghaziri from Dr Taffi — Treasures of Tuscany.

Hiba provided tips on creating this season's natural look using the 100 per cent natural Dr Taffi range of skincare and beauty products that are made from flora and herbs found in the Tuscan countryside.

The highlight of the event was a fashion show by Fabindia. Models of various nationalities showcased a collection of skirts, camisole tops, kurtas, scarves and stoles made from hand- woven and hand-printed natural fabrics such as cotton and silk.

The garments beautifully blended traditional Indian craft techniques with contemporary patterns and silhouettes to create a smart international look.

The vibrant summer palette ranged from whites and soft pastels to bright pinks, blues, yellows and purples.

The natural look of the garments was enhanced by the jewellery worn by the models.

This included hand-crafted amber jewellery brought from Russia by Caravella Trading and silver ornaments designed by Abrar Ahmad Ansari of Abrar Gems and Jewellery, a company that specialises in antique-inspired jewellery from Tibet and Nepal.

Also on display was a range of home furnishing products from Fabindia and Caravella Trading's collection of fine Russian porcelain from the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory founded in 1744 by Czar Peter the Great and delicate lace tableware from Italy.
