Pair go head-to-head in battle of wit using humour as their weapon

After the recent celebrity-studded Indo-Pakistan cricket match in Dubai, it's the turn of two popular comedians to take relations forward. Thursday night, veteran comedians from Pakistan and India — Umer Sharif and Sunil Pal — will battle it out at the Shaikh Rashid auditorium in a show titled Two Idiots.
But their sparring will not be a bloody one as it's a battle of wit and their weapon is humour.
"We will touch upon politics, marital problems and media but the intention is to make people laugh. Both Indians and Pakistanis will be able to enjoy the show and forget about their troubles," says Pal as he enacted his segment in a Gulf News video. He was missing his comrade Sharif, who had missed his flight but will arrive in time for the show, Pal couldn't help but pull his absent colleague's leg.
"Omar bhai you have still not reached, maybe your age is catching up with you. Come on, I have even managed to reach Dubai from India though Pakistan is nearer to Dubai. Does this mean India is more advanced?," says Pal laughing aloud at his own joke.
"But jokes apart, I have the highest regard for Omar bhai. He is my guru [teacher]. Right now, I am the only one idiot right now and I need you to be the other idiot," says Pal.
The show starts at 9pm and the tickets are priced at Dh200, Dh100 and Dh50. For tickets, contact 050 2183536 or 055 6969029.
