"It's a situational comedy like Andaz Apna Apna, but the emphasis is on romance. It is a fun ride that should make the audience smile," says Santoshi.
Prem (Kapoor) is a happy-go-lucky guy whose naïve acts often lead to disastrous consequences for himself, the members of his Happy Club and the whole town. In one hilarious case involving mistaken identity, Prem falls in love with the sweet-natured Jenny (Kaif). He whisks her off and turns over a new leaf by working hard to earn a decent living and keep his lady happy. Love, as they say, is blind, and Jenny will have to face the consequences later.
Amazing chemistry
This is the first time Kapoor and Kaif are working together. Since the filming began, there have been reports about their on-screen and off-screen chemistry. "It was fun shooting with Ranbir," says Kaif. "I'm doing a film with someone who is in the same age bracket as me. With Ranbir there are no ego issues as he is a chilled-out guy who simply wants the best for the film. So basically I could be myself on the sets. Much more than our individual personalities I believe it's our characters that managed to create the on-screen chemistry and all the credit goes to Santoshi."
Ranbir also shared a fun working relationship with Kaif. "Katrina used to pull my leg on the sets and she was full of enthusiasm and energy. I used to call her ‘Sambo', sister of Rambo, because of her super-charged energy. I think it was a blast working on this fun-filled film and I hope the audience enjoys it," he says.
Tapping the talent
Kaif proved her acting worth in Kabir Khan's New York. Will Santoshi's film show Kaif's comic prowess? Though she has worked in comic hits such as Welcome, Partner and Singh Is Kinng, she didn't have much to do other than look good. "I had to work on my comic timing as Santoshi was very clear about how he wanted my character to shape up," she says.
Watch out for Pritam's peppy numbers. They could pull the youth to watch the film.
