Dubai: A driving instructor groped two women while giving them driving lessons around the city, heard a court on Thursday.

The two female students registered themselves at a driving institute to learn driving in April. After they joined the class, the two women rode the testing car with the 36-year-old Bangladeshi driving instructor, according to the records.

During the driving lesson, the instructor allegedly touched the thighs of the woman, who was taking the first lesson. Then he allegedly groped the posterior of the second woman after she switched seats with the first student.

The two women reported the matter to the police who apprehended the Bangladeshi.

Prosecutors charged the suspect with groping two women.

The suspect pleaded not guilty before the Dubai Court of First Instance on Thursday.

A police sergeant, who questioned the suspect, testified to prosecutors: “He claimed that he put his hand on the first woman’s thigh to remind her to buckle her seat belt. As for the second woman, he claimed that he touched her posterior in order to remind her to reduce the speed as they were getting into a crowded street.”

The suspect was cited as telling prosecutors that he touched one woman’s elbow and the knees of the other woman.

A ruling will be heard on Thursday.
