Cairo: Huawei Technologies has been selected by Egypt's largest telecommunications company, Telecom Egypt, to provide Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing technology.
The technology allows multiple video, audio and data channels to be transmitted over one fibre and raises the efficiency and bandwidth of networks by supporting several formats.
The three year contract will increase the capacity of Telecom Egypt's Cairo network and reduce operating costs while improving the quality of service.
Dawlat Al Badawi, planning vice chairman at Telecom Egypt, said, "Huawei's technology enables us to give our customers access to new, advanced services while enhancing the security and quality of existing services."
