Dubai: Saudi Arabia-based entertainment group Rotana said it is looking at launching new television channels to expand its music and cinema broadcasts inside and outside the Arab world.
Part of Prince Walid Bin Talal's business empire, Rotana operates a number of channels targeting different groups of Arab television viewers.
Rotana's digital media division general manager Yousef Mugharbil told Gulf News there will be "more channels coming up" from his group.
At present it has two cinema channels and four music channels. It owns rights for producing music, tapes, CDs, DVDs, video clips, distribution, advertising, promotion and in-store product placement.
The company claims an 85 per cent share of the Arabic music market and has attracted accusations that it wants to monopolise the industry.
