Renewal of business licences made easier
Ras Al Khaimah: Commercial licences will be renewed at typing bureaus here, a top official at the Department Economic Development announced on Wednesday.
According to Hamad Bin Rahmah Al Shamsi, the department Deputy Director, the various types of commercial licences will be renewed at the typing shops and the holders of the documents will no longer need to approach the department for that service.
He explained that applicants would be required to submit the request to a typing shop via Empost for the renewal of the commercial licence.
Al Shamsi said that the new system will benefit both the applicants and the department which currently suffers long queues and huge crowds.
He added that the new system will also save the time and effort of the applicants.
A fixed fee
The Department of Econ-omic Development used the e-government authority in Ras Al Khaimah where a meeting between the authority's top officials and their counterparts from the department was held.
Al Shamsi said the two sides agreed to process the renewal of the various types of the commercial licences via the internet.
He added that typing shops will set up Internet accounts for their clients where the necessary data is updated, and the department will review the application, secure the approval and process the renewal of the licence.
He added that the e-dirham will be used to pay the renewal fees, where the renewed licence will be forwarded to the applicant without his having to visit any department.
Al Shamsi said that the department will soon fix the fees the typing shops should charge their clients, adding it will be a fixed fee that will be paid only once.
He said that the new system was intended to push the businesses and investments in the emirate ahead and save the holders of the commercial establishments the time and effort.
