Drake&Scull bids for projects
Drake & Scull, which focuses on building mechanical and electrical systems, is expanding its work outside the UAE
Dubai: Drake & Scull International, a Dubai-based construction and engineering company, is bidding for projects valued at as much as Dh5 billion ($1.4 billion) in Qatar, Chief Executive Officer Khaldoun Tabari said.
"If we land one or two billion dirhams in the next two years, we will be happy," he said in an interview at the Meed Qatar 2011 Projects Conference in Doha.
The jobs will be mainly mechanical electrical and plumbing work as well as water and sewage, he said.
Drake & Scull, which focuses on building mechanical and electrical systems, is expanding its work outside the UAE, where it currently gets most of its sales.
The company in January announced a Dh465-million contract in Egypt, its first in the country.
