Honour for implementing international standards in information security management
Dubai: Etisalat’s Managed Services Solutions (MSS) department has received an ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certificate from Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, the Corporation announced on Monday.
The certification is in recognition of the Managed Services team’s commitment to implement international standards in information security management systems for customers in the UAE.
The certificate was handed over to Etisalat by Nabeel Tifratine, area financial controller — Middle East & Africa of Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, a well-known certification body accredited by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Services) and specialising in the assessment and certification of management systems such as IEC/ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001, in a ceremony held in Etisalat’s Al Kifaf building.
Speaking on the certification, Fadil Al Ansari, EVP, Etisalat Engineering, said: “This new accomplishment reflects the ongoing enhancement of our managed services as per international standards with the ultimate aim of providing the best products and services to our customers. The Managed Services Solutions department is a key unit and remains an integral component of the overall security assurance within Etisalat. These new standards will be valuable to our customers, who can now benefit from the enhanced quality and security standards”.
The ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certificate, which technology and telecommunications companies all over the world seek to achieve, implements a security management system according to international standards in order to achieve adequate and proportionate security controls that protect information assets and give confidence to interested parties. The certificate is a validation of Etisalat Managed Services team’s commitment to information security and customer satisfaction.
