Dolphin Energy awards project to Technip group

Dolphin Energy Ltd (DEL) yesterday announced it has awarded the joint alliance of Technip and Abu Dhabi-based Al Jaber Energy Services a $62 million (Dh228 million) engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to build the new onshore Taweelah gas receiving facility and associated pipelines in Abu Dhabi.

Dolphin Energy Ltd (DEL) yesterday announced it has awarded the joint alliance of Technip and Abu Dhabi-based Al Jaber Energy Services a $62 million (Dh228 million) engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to build the new onshore Taweelah gas receiving facility and associated pipelines in Abu Dhabi.

The facility will be built adjacent to the existing Taweelah power station and will comprise three parallel gas receiving trains and associated equipment, metering facilities, control buildings and warehouse plus additional inter-connecting pipelines to the Taweelah power stations and to the existing Maqta-Jebel Ali pipeline.

"The EPC award is for building the onshore receiving facilities at Taweelah for Dolphin Energy's forthcoming natural gas export pipeline from Qatar," said a statement from DEL.

Other pre-qualified bidders were Dodsal Pte, JFE Engineering, National Petroleum Construction Co (NPCC), Petrofac International, Technimont and Willbross Middle East/Al Hussam joint venture.
