Dubai Horse Fair 2010 opens at DICEC

Dubai : Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, yesterday opened the Dubai International Horse Fair (DIHF) at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC).

Offering the latest innovations in equestrian products and services, the exhibition, which runs 18-20 March brings together leading international breeders, manufacturers and veterinarians providing the market with three days of education and entertainment.

He was accompanied by Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Dr Rashid Ahmad Bin Fahd, Minister of Environment and Water, and Saeed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, in addition to a number of senior government officials.

Visitors to this year's show will experience a range of the latest innovations in equestrian products as well as a programme that includes Arts and crafts sessions, horse and camel museums, workshops on animal behavioural problems and cutting edge farrier techniques.

The event will run concurrently with the Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship, the top competition in the region for purebred Arabian horses, with prize money of $4 million (Dh14.6 million).
