A suicide bomber in a rickshaw detonated his explosives near a group of police constables
Peshawar: Police say a suicide bomber in a rickshaw detonated his explosives near a group of police constables in northwest Pakistan's main city of Peshawar, killing three people.
The attack was the latest in a string of strikes that have killed more than 300 people and appear aimed at distracting the government from its offensive against the Taliban in the South Waziristan tribal region. Security forces have been the primary targets.
Police official Shaukat Khan says five other people were wounded in the blast Monday at Pathang Intersection on the well-known Ring Road around the city. Television footage showed a destroyed rickshaw surrounded by security officials.
Peshawar has been struck several times during the recent surge of strikes.
