Train collides with bus in northwest Egypt, killing 20 people

Cairo: At least 20 people were killed on Wednesday when a train hit a bus on a level crossing close to Egypt's northwestern town of Marsa Matruh, police said.

The accident occurred in the Daba'a region, on the Mediterranean coast 400km northwest of the Egyptian capital Cairo, police added. At least one of the train's carriages rolled off the track after hitting the bus, a police official said, requesting anonymity. A truck and car were also involved, he said. The crash is the latest in a series of transport disasters in Egypt.
