Amman: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani is recovering well after he collapsed from exhaustion over the weekend, an Iraqi ambassador said on Tuesday.
"He's in good shape, fully aware and doing well," said Ambassador Saad Al Hayyani. "There are no tests planned today."
Talabani was flown to a hospital in Jordan from Iraq after he fell ill on Sunday. Hayyani said Talabani had been suffering from exhaustion and mild lung inflammation.
The ambassador declined to say when Talabani would be discharged from the King Hussein Medical City so he can return to Iraq.
