Khartoum: The Sudanese government has doubled its bounty for a wanted Darfur rebel leader whose troops staged a raid in Khartoum last week.

State television reported on Tuesday that the government has doubled the reward for Khalil Ibrahim to 500 million Sudanese pounds ($246 million).

The bounty on the leader of Darfur's Justice and Equality Movement is ten times more than what the United States has offered for Al Qaida leader Osama Bin Laden.

According to the television report, the bounty will go to anyone who contributes to Ibrahim's arrest.

Ibrahim on Monday vowed to launch more attacks on the government.
