Tehran: Iran hanged six men for armed robbery on Wednesday, a news agency reported, the latest in a series of executions in the Islamic Republic that has been
criticised in the West.
They were put to death inside a prison in Zanjan after being convicted of carrying out a robbery in the bazaar of the northwestern city last year, the Fars News Agency said. One of them had also been sentenced for murder.
