At least 11 hurt in Algeria earthquake

Algiers: An earthquake hit the Oran region, west of Algiers, on Saturday, injuring at least 11 people, public radio reported.

The 5.5 magnitude earthquake sent panic-stricken residents out of their homes, witnesses said.

An earthquake also shook Oran in January, although there were no reports of damages or casualties.
