Baghdad: An Iraqi security forces unit attacked the office of the governor of Diyala province on Tuesday, killing the governor's secretary and triggering clashes.
Governor Raad Rasheed Mulla Jawad said that a counter-terrorism unit had stormed his office, killed his secretary and arrested a member of the provincial council.
The governor was not present in the building during the raid, which wounded four policemen and two civilians.
It was not clear which force staged the assault. Its members clashed with police and Iraqi army units in the provincial capital Baquba before withdrawing.
