Muscat: Oman residents are in for another holiday bonanza as the government has declared combined holidays for the 39th National Day as well as Eid Al Adha.

The government has announced five-day holidays from November 28 to December 2 for the public sector. With two weekends on the either sides of the holidays those working in the ministries or any other public sector will get nine holidays.

The Manpower Ministry has announced four holidays (from November 28-December 1) for the private sector. Many private sector companies observe Thursday-Friday as their weekend, therefore they will get eight holidays.

The banking sector, which also falls under private sector, works five days from Sunday to Thursday thus will get only six holidays and will have to report for work on Thursday (December 3). However, the country’s banking sector will work for only one day (November 3) in nine days, between November 27-December 4.

During last Eid holidays the banking sector was closed for nine days as both private and public sector enjoyed nine-day-long holidays.
