Abu Dhabi: About 80 Bahrainis casted votes yesterday at the Bahraini Embassy in Abu Dhabi to cast their votes, according to an embassy official.
Hussain Jassem, first secretary at the embassy and election coordinator, told Gulf News that voters came from different areas in the UAE.
Following the directives of Khalid Bin Ahmad Al Khalifa, Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs, to ease the poll process for Bahrainis living abroad, the embassy of Bahrain in Abu Dhabi formed a group for elections follow up, according to Jasem.
"We called citizens whose addresses we had and registered more than 180 voters," he said.
"The election process ran very smoothly from 9am till 7pm, and the results will be declared in Bahrain on November 25," he added.
