Manama: A Bahraini woman in her sixties has become the country's seventh fatality from the swine flu, health officials said in Manama.
The victim was treated in the intensive care unit for five days and suffered from respiratory problems. She also had other chronic diseases, the health ministry said.
Ahmad Al Saati, assistant undersecretary for hospitals, said that 22 people were kept in an isolation ward in the Salmaniya Medical Complex, the country's largest government hospital.
Three patients are in a critical condition, he said.
Five of the seven people to have died from the H1N1 virus are Bahraini nationals. The other two are a Filipina and a Bangladeshi.
