Manama: Over two thousand workers who went on strike were back at work on Sunday after being promised better pay, according to the Gulf Daily News.
The Indian labourers, who get a monthly salary of around BD60 (Dh 584), downed tools after they were offered a BD10 (Dh 97) increase.
They had complained the pay rise was not enough to cope with rising living costs.
According to the report, the rise will range between BD10 (Dh 97) to BD30 (Dh 292).
