Athens: Greek police say two time bombs have exploded at building sites for police stations in Athens and the northern city of Thessaloniki. The blasts early Tuesday morning did not cause any injuries.
The bombs had timing mechanisms and large gas cannisters. Police say anonymous warning calls were made to local media before both explosions, and authorities had cordoned off the sites.
Greece has seen an increase in bombings and arson attacks after riots in December sparked by the fatal police shooting of a teenager. Most attacks have been attributed to shadowy far-left or anarchist groups.
