Paris: Russian President Dmitry Medvedev told French President Nicolas Sarkozy on Sunday that Russian forces would begin pullout from Georgia on Monday.
According to a statement from Sarkozy's office, the Russian troop withdrawal would begin around midday on Monday.
Sarkozy spoke to Medvedev on the telephone to warn of serious consequences for relations with the European Union if Russian forces do not pull out of Georgia.
Russia and Georgia signed ceasefire agreement meant to end the deadly fighting that began on August 8.
