Moscow: At least three people were killed when a car blew up near a subway station in St. Petersburg on Tuesday, authorities said.
A 3-year-old child was among those killed, said Andrey Alybavev, spokesman for the emergencies ministry.
Officials are investigating whether a grenade caused the car to explode near the metro station Udelnaya.
The RIA Novosti news agency quoted an unnamed official as saying the subway station was open for the morning rush hour when the explosion occurred.
