Copenhagen: Denmark's prime minister has condemned comments made by a Dutch lawmaker who called the Qur'an a ''fascist book.''
Anders Fogh Rasmussen said Geert Wilders' comments about Muslims were ''extremely offensive.''
Wednesday's statement by the prime minister comes after Wilders praised Fogh Rasmussen for defending freedom of speech amid Muslim protests against Danish cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.
Wilders, who plans to air an anti-Qur'an film this month, said in a Danish TV interview Tuesday that the Muslim holy book is ''fascist'' and ''violent.''
Dutch officials fear his film could spark violent protests in Muslim countries similar to those two years ago after the publication of the cartoons of the prophet.
