Britain's Tony Blair on Time magazine Top 100 list

New York: Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair made it to Time magazine's "100 most influential people list" alongside world leaders and other celebrities.

Blair won a slot under the category "heroes and pioneers" for his work as a Middle East ambassador.

"Tony listened to my advice graciously but ignored it completely by immediately accepting a new job as Middle East envoy," former US president Bill Clinton wrote in a piece for the magazine, which published the list on Friday.

Teen idol Miley Cyrus, who stars in the Hannah Montana show in Disney Channel TV, also made it to the list—becoming the youngest person to be included.

US presidential candidates Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John McCain were also included in the list, along with Tibet's spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama.

The Time magazine list also included a list of people who may have changed the world for the worse. Al Qaida-linked militant Baitullah Mehsud was listed.

When Time asked its readers to name the most influential people of the year, the number one choice from 200 candidates was Nintendo video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto.

Miyamoto tallied almost two million votes, 300,000 more than the runner-up, Korean pop singer Rain. Popular US TV comedian Stephen Colbert came in third.
