Lhasa: About 30 monks disrupted a government-managed tour by foreign reporters to the regional capital of Lhasa, defending the Dalai Lama and calling for religious freedom.
The outburst came as journalists were touring the Jokhang Temple – one of Tibet's holiest shrines.
According to the Associated Press, officials shouted for the journalists to leave and tried to pull them away during the protest.
The trip was organized by government handlers in an attempt to show the international media that calm had been restored in Lhasa following deadly riots.
