Phuket: Investigators said they have found the flight recorders of the Thai budget airline that crashed when it skidded off a runway in heavy rain in Phuket.

Rescue teams continued sifting through debris on Monday in efforts to recover the last few bodies. Survivors said the plane smashed through a wall and disintegrated before bursting into flames.

At least 89 people were killed and 41 others injured in the accident. Five Iranians, two Israelis and seven Britons were among those killed.

The plane's pilots are believed to have died in the crash along with 55 foreigners, officials said. No one from the UAE was believed to be onboard the jetliner, said a UAE embassy official in Thailand.

Transport Minister Theera Haocharoen said that officials will send the "black boxes" or flight recorders to the United States for analysis.

"Hopefully, we will learn in a few weeks the cause of accident," she said.
