Kabul: A suicide car bomber struck a convoy of foreign troops near the US embassy in Kabul on Thursday, killing four civilian, the Afghan government said.
The presidential palace said four civilians were killed in the attack on Thursday. Another 20 people, all of them civilians, were wounded, a public health ministry doctor said.
The bomber blew up his Toyota saloon car on a road some 150 metres from a traffic junction near the US embassy and the Health Ministry.
An embassy spokesperson said all staff were safe and accounted for.
Spokesmen for international troops confirmed the blast, but were unable to provide any details.
