Seoul: South Korea's ruling conservatives have claimed victory in parliamentary elections.

Grand National Party leader Kang Jae-sup said they now had a majority in the 299-seat National Assembly.

Their win is a boon to conservative President Lee Myung-bak, helping him push through plans to reform the economy and make the country more business-friendly.
