Suspects in Philippine bank massacre executed, says human rights chair
Manila: Philippine police may have executed the four suspects in a bank robbery that left 10 people dead, a human rights official alleged on Monday.
Commission on Human Rights chair Leila de Lima said the suspects behind the May 16 massacre at Rizal Commercial Banking Corp in Cabuyao, Laguna "could have been rubbed out by policemen."
De Lima said witnesses interviewed by the commission said that policemen killed three of the suspects last Thursday, media network ABS-CBN reported.
De Lima said policemen shot the three outside their homes while their hands were raised.
"Policemen fired more shots when the suspects were already lying down," De Lima said, quoting testimonies of witnesses.
Philippine National Police chief Avelino Razon told ABS-CBN that police will investigate the alleged rubout and take actions if they find that a violation took place.
