Action star Jeremy Renner on Wednesday met the President of the Philippines, Benigno Aquino
Dubai: Action star Jeremy Renner has worked with Oscar winners and Hollywood superstars, but on Wednesday got a taste of political power when he met the President of the Philippines, Benigno Aquino.
Renner, who has spent the last month in Manila filming the latest installment in the Bourne series of spy thrillers, paid a courtesy call to Malacanang palace, where he and the film’s producer Brian Crowley shook hands with the leader.
Renner, who was Oscar-nominated for his roles in Iraq war drama The Hurt Locker and crime saga The Town, and most recently appeared in the Dubai-set Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol, wore a traditional Filipino shirt called a barong for the occasion. In the fourth Bourne film, titled Legacy, Renner takes over from Matt Damon, who starred in the first three films.
