Karachi: A suspected militant died as a hand grenade he intended to use in an attack blew off in his hand.
Six others were also killed in continuous violence in the city.
Police said that the alleged terrorist was carrying three grenades, a pistol and an extra magazine. He threw two grenades but the third one went off in his hand. Police collected the fingerprint and blood samples of the unidentified terrorist.
The incident took place in the Baldia Town in the western ouskirts of the city.
In the Site area, unknown gunmen shot one Owais, who was taken to the hospital where he died. Two bodies were found from the Super Highway.
One was identified as Abdullah whereas the other body remained unidentified. However both the bodies carried marks of torture and later they were shot with the bullet.
Another body that was packed in a gunny sack was recovered from the Steel Town. The police was investigating about the identity of the body.
In Pahar Ganj area of Nazimabad town, unknown attackers opened fire on Shafiq, who is said to be a worker of a political party. Shafiq died on the way to hospital.
Pakistan endured some 600 deaths monthly becuase of political conflicts and clahses in the first four month of the current year.
A research compiled by the Centre for Research and Security Studies says from January till April there was an unprecedented surge in the death toll. Total 2674 people were gunned down in over a thousand incidents of violence. Those incidents left 2386 people injured.
Targetted killing topped in this mega city as 45 percent of th total violent deaths in the country took place in Karachi. Until April more than 700 people were gunned down in Karachi, the survey said.
