Islamabad: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi left for New York on Tuesday to pursue a request for a UN investigation into the assassination of Benazir Bhutto.
Qureshi will meet UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon tomorrow to discuss how his letter seeking the establishment of an international commission to probe Bhutto's killing has been followed up.
The letter was submitted to Ban by UN Ambassador Munir Akram on June 6.
Qureshi will also meet ambassadors of UN member states, including Security Council permanent members.
He is also expected to make a brief visit to Washington to meet with senior US officials.
