Dubai: People will vote for Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to take revenge of Benazir Bhutto's assassination, said a leading politician.
"The government postponed the elections to February 18 to gain sometime after Bhutto's murder but her party is set to win the elections as people want to revenge her murder," said Muneer Ahmad Khan, Deputy Information Secretary of Alliance for Restoration of Democracy (ARD). The PPP is the leading member of the ARD.
Khan, who is on a short visit to Dubai, told reporters that pre-poll rigging has already in the run up to the general elections as government machinery is being used by the Pakistan Muslim League (Q), which was in power for the last five years.
"The government is playing dangerous game by supporting the PML-Q and it could further aggravate political crisis in the country," he said.
He said the PML-Q should withdraw from elections as they are responsible for the current political and economic crisis in the country. "People of Pakistan are suffering because of wrong policies and mismanagement of the previous government.
He said President Pervez Musharraf should vacate Army house for the new Chief of Army Staff because he has retired from the army and has no right to stay there.
