Bhopal: Achche Lal, a class-12 dropout, did what few in his community would dare do. Breaking the taboo, the young farmer in Madhya Pradesh married a woman, who was allegedly raped by bandits only two days before they were to wed.
The wedding took place in a village in Shivpuri district on Tuesday, Lal told IANS.
On Sunday night, the bride's family was in despair after a gang of robbers took away all the wedding jewellery and cash and allegedly raped the bride and her sister at gunpoint.
"It was no fault of the girl. I need to stand by her. I have married her and I will fight for her justice too," he said.
