Colombo: A busy part of the Sri Lankan capital Colombo was hit with an explosion on Monday, the military said.
Five vehicles were damaged but no injuries were reported, the military said.
"There was a small explosion on Malwatte Street. Five vehicles were damaged," a military spokesman said on condition of anonymity.
Malwatte Street is in Pettah, a busy market area of the capital city which is adjacent to Fort, a heavily guarded zone full of government offices where police initially said the blast had been heard.
