Harare: Zimbabwean opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai arrived to hold talks with President Robert Mugabe at a hotel on Sunday, hinting that a power-sharing deal may be close.
South African President Thabo Mbeki, who is mediating the political conflict, will also take part in the meetings.
The leader of a breakaway faction of Tsvangirai's Movement of Democratic Change party, Arthur Mutambara will also meet Murabe.
Mutambara on Sunday said that the talks with the government were close to securing an agreement that could end a post-election crisis.
In a newspaper article, he said that the compromise solution had limitations but is the "best temporary measure to extricate the country from its worst situation".
