Tragedy strikes in Kalba, UAE, as under construction school roof collapses

Sharjah: The General Command of Sharjah Police is investigating the collapse of a school roof under construction in Kalba, UAE. Emergency teams responded promptly, providing first aid to three injured individuals of Arab and Asian nationalities with minor to moderate injuries. The bodies of two deceased workers were also recovered.

Brigadier Dr Ali Al Kay Al Hamoudi, Director of the Eastern Region Police Department, stated that upon receiving the report earlier on Sunday, all specialized teams were dispatched to the scene, including the Sharjah Civil Defense Authority, the Kalba Comprehensive Police Station, the Crime Scene Team, the National Ambulance, and the Kalba Municipality.

Brigadier Al Hamoudi indicated that the specialized teams evacuated the site completely and provided immediate first aid to the injured before transporting them and the bodies of the deceased to the hospital. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the incident.
