Dubai: The winners of the seventh Ibda'a Media Student Awards were honoured by Shaikh Mansour Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum at a gala ceremony organised by Dubai Media City.
The Ibda'a Media Student Awards was launched in 2001 to discover, showcase and foster young media talent from around the world.
This year, Ibda'a Awards received more than 2,200 entries from 25 countries including new entrants representing Brazil, Poland, Sri Lanka and Sudan.
An elite panel of judges from the International Advertising Association - UAE Chapter (IAA-UAE) selected winners for outstanding talents in 10 categories such as journalism, radio, animation, graphic design, analogue and digital photography, digital photography, print and TV advertising and TV documentary and feature.
The winners were awarded attractive prizes including internships with leading global media brands such as CNN, Arabian Radio Network (ARN), Xische Studios, Team Young & Rubicam, Motivate Publishing, Nikon, Leo Burnett, Saatchi & Saatchi, CNBC and MBC.
The finalists' works are being showcased in an exhibition that will run until November 29.
