UAE opens mosque at Kabul University

Kabul: A mosque named after the late Shaikh Ahmad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan was opened at Kabul University campus by Yousuf Khamis Al Ali, the UAE’s ambassador to Afghanistan.

The opening ceremony of the mosque, which can accommodate 2,500 worshippers, was attended by Dr Mohammad Yousuf Niazi, Afghanistan’s minister of Haj and Islamic affairs, and senior officials.

Dr Niazi paid tribute to the UAE for its consistent, generous support for humanitarian and charitable causes. “The mosque stands testimony to the giving, generosity and love of UAE people to charity,” he said.
