Two dead, three hurt as cars collide

Al Ain: Two people, including an Emirati woman, were killed and three others injured seriously when two cars collided in the Umm Al Awash area Al Wagan.

The accident occurred at around 7:30pm on Wednesday. The bodies of the deceased persons and the injured have been shifted to a hospital in the area.

A police official said a 29-year-old Emirati woman, Z.H.S, was travelling by a car along with her 33-year- old Asian driver, A.S.A, who lost control of the car after hitting a speed-breaker and hit a car from the other side, driven by a GCC national, M.S.K.

The impact overturned the first car and threw it off of the road. The Asian driver and the Emirati women were pronounced dead on the spot while, M.S.K, and his two other companions sustained severe injuries.

The official said the spot did not have signs to warn drivers of a speed-breaker.
