Speeding driver killed in collision with tanker

Dubai: A man was killed in a road accident in Jebel Ali Free Zone when his vehicle rammed into a water tanker on Wednesday afternoon.

The 64-year-old Asian, identified as S.M., was killed in the collision in one of the internal roads inside the Free Zone.

Police said S.M. was speeding and driving recklessly and he had entered the main road without making sure it was clear. As a result, his vehicle hit a water tanker which was going in the proper direction. The 64-year-old died on the spot.

In another incident, a nine-year-old boy sustained leg injuries when he slipped and his leg got trapped in the toilet flush.

The boy, A.Y., sustained moderate injuries when the incident happened in his family's villa in Al Barsha.

Villa mishap

The Dubai Police Difficult Missions Team and a team from Dubai Civil Defence went to the villa and helped free the boy's leg.

The team freed the boy's leg using rescue equipment to break the flush in a way that did not harm the child.

He was later treated at a hospital.
