Public will help solve traffic problems in RAK

Ras Al Khaimah: The representative members of the emirate's Traffic Council, picked from parents' associations in the emirate, will be announced shortly.

The Traffic Council will start operating at the beginning of the coming school year.

Colonel Hassan Al Braiki said the Traffic Council will help ensure security and safety standards.

He added that setting up the Traffic Council follows instructions from General Shaikh Taleb Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chief of the RAK Police. Col Al Braiki said the council will improve communication between the Traffic and Licensing Department and residents.

The new council will hold regular meetings to discuss road and traffic conditions.

Col Al Braiki said the public will play a key role through their representatives in finding solutions to traffic problems.
