Dubai: More than 12 million hours of work on Dubai Metro project have been completed without accidents involving serious injury among workers involved in the project.
Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), stressed RTA's commitment to pursue highest levels of safety and security in the Dubai Metro to ensure protection of Dubai Metro users, which matches metro projects in Europe and other countries.
Al Tayer said 13 incidents caused minor injuries among workers.
He noted that RTA has appointed Lloyd's as an Independent Safety Assessor Specialist Consultant (ISA) to undertake and perform the independent safety assessment of the Dubai Metro Project.
